Use the medical and legal modules
The specialty modules add medical or legal vocabulary to ParusVoice, plus their own formatting, for example for findings, medical letters or legal briefs. You keep dictating into your usual software. The modules are available with every plan; information is on Medical & Legal.
Set up the module
Once it’s activated, ParusVoice shows an introduction to your module. You can find it again later via “Show introduction again”.
- Medical: Under “Settings” > “Medical”, choose between “Adaptive” and “Medical”. “Adaptive” recognizes supported practice software and uses the medical formatting there; “Medical” uses it in all apps. With the specialty you set your field, for example “Internal medicine / Cardiology”.
- Legal: The settings are under “Settings” > “Law & Practice”.
Dictate in a specialty module
Place the cursor in the field and start dictating. Specialty dictations run in Live mode and appear section by section.
With German as your main language, ParusVoice doesn’t add punctuation on its own in a specialty module. Speak it, the way you know from classic dictation. All commands are in Punctuation, paragraphs and commands while dictating.
Dictation microphones
If you connect a dictation microphone, the “Dictation microphone” card in your module’s settings shows the device. With “Buttons control dictation”, the record button starts dictation like your dictation key, and Stop ends it. “Device button selects the device as microphone” makes sure a dictation started this way records through the dictation microphone.
Retention and text snippets
Specialty dictations have their own retention in the history, 30 days by default. Change it in the module’s settings.
Create recurring passages as a text snippet. Names of colleagues, patients or clients belong in the dictionary.
