Add names and terms to your dictionary
In the dictionary you store names and terms the way they should be spelled. ParusVoice uses them for recognition and cleanup. This helps with surnames, project names and technical words.
Add a term
- Open ParusVoice and choose “Dictionary”.
- Enter the term the way it should appear in the text, for example “Nordlicht”.
- Add it with the plus.
- Dictate a sentence with the term and check the spelling.
Enter single words or short names. For whole sentences, use text snippets.
Add straight from a document
If a name is already spelled correctly, select it and choose “Add to dictionary…” in the ParusVoice menu in the menu bar. The small window takes the selection, Enter saves it. It’s faster with the “Quick to dictionary” shortcut or, in Live mode, the voice command “add to dictionary”.
ParusVoice learns as you go
If you correct a word by hand after a dictation, ParusVoice remembers the right spelling. You briefly see the message “Dictionary updated”. Click “Undo” to reverse it right away.
Learned entries appear in the dictionary in the “Learned automatically” group. You can remove them there. If you don’t want automatic learning, turn off “Learn automatically” in the dictionary.
On every Mac you use
Your dictionary belongs to your account. If you sign in on another Mac, it’s available there too. Remove a term of your own with the cross on its entry. Terms from your text snippets are in the “From replacements” group and are edited in the respective replacement.
