Dictated text isn’t inserted
Your dictation isn’t lost. If the text doesn’t arrive in the field, ParusVoice shows a card with the text. Every dictation is also in your history.
Rescue the text first
- Click into the text field where your dictation belongs.
- On the ParusVoice card, choose “Insert”.
- If that doesn’t work, choose “Copy” and paste the text yourself with ⌘V.
If you already closed the card, open ParusVoice, choose “Home” and copy the dictation from the history.
The card says “Check insertion”
ParusVoice couldn’t confirm for sure that the text arrived. Look in the field first. Only add what’s missing, so nothing appears twice.
The most common causes
- No text field active. An email you’re reading, a web page or a file picker don’t accept text. Click into a writable field and dictate again.
- You switched apps. If you switch to another app during a Live dictation, inserting stops. That way no text lands in the wrong app. The rest waits on the card. Another field in the same app is fine; ParusVoice keeps writing there at the cursor.
- Accessibility is missing. Without this permission, ParusVoice can’t insert. Check it under “Settings” > “Permissions”, see Allow microphone access and turn on Accessibility.
- Secure input is on. Password fields and some Terminal settings block input from other apps. ParusVoice then collects the text and shows it on the card.
Test afterwards
Dictate a short sentence into a new note. If it works there, the problem is the original field.
If your internet connection dropped during dictation, read Connection lost: your dictation is saved. If you contact support, mention the app, the mode (Default or Live) and the exact wording of the message.
