Dictate in Mail, Word and other apps
ParusVoice inserts your dictation wherever the text cursor is. This works in Mail, Word, Pages, your browser, messengers, Terminal and specialist software. You don’t install a plugin or set anything up per app.
Dictate into an app
- Open the app and click into the field you want to write in.
- Hold the dictation key and speak.
- Release the key. ParusVoice inserts the finished text at the cursor.
Your clipboard stays unchanged. If you copied something before, it’s still there afterwards.
Write an email
Subject and message are two separate fields. Click into the subject first and dictate “Our meeting on Thursday”. Then switch to the message field and speak the greeting, the text and the sign-off. Say “new paragraph” to start a new section.
ParusVoice doesn’t send anything. You check the text and send it yourself.
Add to existing text
Place the cursor between two sentences or at the end of a paragraph and dictate the addition. ParusVoice reads the text around the cursor. That way the transition, capitalization and spellings match the existing text.
To rephrase a section, select it and say, for example, “Hey Voice, make this more polite”. More in Shorten, rephrase or turn text into a list.
