Shorten, rephrase or turn text into a list

Updated 3 October 2026

Select a passage and say how it should change. ParusVoice shortens a message, changes the tone or turns notes into a list. In an editable field, it replaces the selection directly.

Rephrase a passage

  1. Select the text in your document or email draft.
  2. Hold the dictation key and start with “Hey Voice” or your own wake word.
  3. Say what should happen: “Hey Voice, make this more polite.”
  4. Release the key and stay in the same spot until the new text appears.

The more precise the instruction, the better the result. “Shorten this to two sentences” gets you further than “Make this better”.

Instructions to try

When the result appears in the panel

ParusVoice can’t overwrite text on a web page or in an email you received. The new version then appears in the assistant panel. From there, copy it or insert it into another field: click into the target first, then click the insert button below the answer.

The same applies if you switch to a different spot while it’s processing. The result isn’t lost.

For new text in another language, use live translation: Translate into another language while dictating.
